Day 4

Tel Aviv

sunny 31 °C

A strange day really...transit days always are.

10 hours on an old cramped El Al flight from Bangkok to Tel Aviv. Not the best flight that I have had in a while. However, I arrived safely in Tel Aviv 1/2 an hour early and had a spare seat next to me - always a bonus!

The line at the immigration desk reminded me of Vietnam last year. Only this time, I was tired and cranky all by myself. If Spicer had been with me, I am sure there would not have been any talking at all...

I can highly recommend Hotel Sadot in Tel Aviv. Because my flight got in so early, I was at the hotel just after 9:00 am. They gave me breakfast (for free) and I sat in the restaurant waiting for my room, making use of the wi-fi.

From 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm they have free drinks and a buffet in the bar. Other than Pizza Hut and McDonalds, there are no other options close by. The buffet was fabulous and I enjoyed a ????.

Being coeliac is a real challenge some days. Lunch consisted of potato chips - safest option when you cannot read the packaging. Better to be safe than sorry.

The next part of the adventure starts tomorrow, when I meet my good friend Nancy and her husband Joel, together with a number of others, including my good friends Geoff and Tilly. We start our Holy Land Tour and I am super excited to be walking where Jesus walked.
